Having gone through a redevelopment in 2013, the Royal Wellington golf course is now of an international standard befitting of its ‘Royal’ status. Situated 35 minutes from Wellington central, this parkland course was described by Greg Turner, former touring pro and course re-designer, as “like playing golf in an arboretum”. The redesign has given the course much more challenging, undulating greens and has brought the courses neighboring Hutt River and streams into play meaning that golfers need to think more carefully about their shot selection. Royal Wellington Golf Club will also host the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in October 2017.
