Clearwater

The par 72 championship course has hosted 8 PGA Championships, 2 NZ Opens and 4 NZ Women’s Opens since 2002. Designed by John Darby in consultation with New Zealand golfing legend, Sir Bob Charles, the course combines elements of links golf inspired by the great Scottish courses with parkland golf, more reminiscent of Florida. The Clearwater golf course is built around a series of man-made lakes, bringing water into play on 14 holes.

The course record for all players is held by Lydia Ko who shot a superb 61 during the second round of the 2015 ISPS Handa NZ Women’s Open, before claiming the national title for the second time.
